I love being creative and my daughter loves being in front of a camera. She also loves being in Girl Scouts. Put these things together and we came up with...THE COOKIE ROOKIE!
This is Isabella’s fourth year in Girl Scouts. In past years, it’s not been easy for Isabella to set a cookie selling goal because we couldn’t commit much time for her to go out and sell.
Four years ago when Isabella joined Girl Scouts, my husband had lost his job and we basically had to start completely over. We decided to put our talents together and started In the Moment Productions. We were doing a lot of weekend and evening work, so that left little time for Isabella to go out and sell cookies when the time came each year.
My son, Noah, was also born that year and we immediately knew something wasn’t right. We later learned Noah was born with a rare condition called Lowe Syndrome that mainly affects his brain, eyes and kidneys. Because of this rare disease, Noah has weekly speech, physical, occupational, and behavioral therapies, follow-up visits with doctors, and hospital visits from time to time for various reasons. So, this also made it hard to set aside time to let Isabella sell cookies in the past.
Things are still busy and on-going with our lives but we don’t have to work as hard as we did a few years ago to make ends meet. Isabella now has a chance to set a goal and sell as many cookies as she can. Her goal is to sell 500 boxes this year. Crossing fingers she can meet her goal!
Until next time in our MADdix World…
